ESBeach parasols are similar to umbrellas, but are much bigger. They're hexagonal or octagonal, and are usually anchored with a thick pole in the middle. They come in a wide variety of colors and are usually between six and ten feet in diameter. Many of these umbrellas also double as storage containers for your beach gear.
You can use beach umbrellas to shade yourself from the sun when you're sitting on a beach chair. The umbrella fits over your chair, providing you with shade for your face, but not your whole body. If you're sitting on the beach, you should also consider a beach tent, which provides shade while allowing breeze to pass through. Beach tents provide more space and privacy than parasols, and may even come with a window on one side.
